ArcelorMittal Duisburg

ArcelorMittal plans to end steelmaking, continuous casting and billet rolling in Duisburg-Ruhrort, putting 550 jobs at risk.

The shutdown is planned for October 2027 and still requires supervisory-board approval; wire rolling would continue. The affected operations employ most of the roughly 800 people currently working at the Duisburg site.
