Clarebout Potatoes

Clarebout Potatoes is considering ending production at its Mouscron 1 factory in Belgium, putting up to 392 jobs at risk.

No final decision has been made, and the company has opened Belgium's information-and-consultation process to examine the proposal and possible alternatives. Clarebout said frozen-potato capacity exceeds expected demand by about 14% to 20%, while the older Mouscron 1 equipment carries higher production costs.
