Sunwels opened a voluntary-retirement program for up to 120 employees across its Japanese care operations.

Applications run from September 1 through September 15, with departures scheduled for October 31 and enhanced severance and outplacement support available. The nursing-care provider said reimbursement pressures and its revenue structure required a leaner workforce.
