Zomato is closing its Hyderabad customer-support center, eliminating about 250 jobs as the food-delivery company consolidates the remaining operation in Gurugram.

The move follows a six-month shift toward outsourcing more customer-care work to external partners. Employees were informed on August 31 and will receive August pay plus four months of severance and extended health and counseling support. The closure brings the remaining in-house support team closer to Zomato's product, technology, analytics and business functions in Gurugram.
