Crothall Healthcare

Crothall Healthcare will lay off 545 employees when its support-services contract at VCU Health in Richmond ends on October 31.

The operation is closing after VCU chose a successor contractor. Most affected workers may be able to apply with the incoming provider, but Crothall said it could not guarantee them jobs. The largest affected groups are 399 housekeepers and 62 floor technicians, and the workforce is represented by SEIU Local 32BJ.
