Markdom Plastics to close Bellevue, Ohio, facility, affecting about 78 workers
The company says it will offer roughly 75 transfer positions at another Ohio plant as it consolidates its operations in the state.
Markdom Plastics plans to permanently close its facility in Bellevue, Ohio, a move that will affect about 78 employees, according to a letter the company filed with the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services under the federal WARN Act.
The site at 122 Hirt Drive, which the company calls its Ohio 2 facility, is closing as part of what the letter describes as strategic shifts in the business, including the consolidation of its Ohio operations, along with increased market competition, changes in demand for its products and technological advances in manufacturing.
The company said it evaluated alternatives but concluded the closure was unavoidable. It intends to offer about 75 transfer positions at its Ohio 1 facility to employees of the Bellevue site.
The letter is dated October 9, 2026, and the state recorded it as received that day.
