Pixelle Specialty Solutions to close Fremont, Ohio, facility, cutting about 61 jobs
Production will move to Wisconsin after Pixelle sells its Carbonless business; the first job losses are set for December 1, 2026.
Pixelle Specialty Solutions will permanently close its converting facility in Fremont, Ohio, eliminating about 61 jobs, according to a letter the company filed with the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services under the federal WARN Act.
The closure follows Pixelle’s agreement to sell its Carbonless business, the main manufacturing activity at the plant on Commerce Drive. The buyer does not plan to continue operations in Fremont and intends to move production to an existing location in Wisconsin, the company said.
The first job losses are expected on December 1, 2026, with more to follow in stages as the company finishes production and meets customer commitments. Slitter operators make up the largest group, 14 positions, followed by six maintenance workers and four each of group leaders and shippers.
The affected employees are not represented by a union, according to the filing, which was dated and received October 2, 2026.
